#THISisOverreaction

Melody Valentin was given the “paper gun,” which amounted to little more than a sheet of A4 paper with a corner torn off, by her grandfather before she put it in her pocket and forgot all about it.
When a school administrator found the piece of paper, Valentin was verbally chastised in front of the whole class and, according to her mother, even threatened with arrest. Valentin was also searched as the other children looked on.
Last week, a 5-year-old girl from Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania was interrogated for three hours, forced to undergo psychological testing and suspended by school officials after she was accused of making “terroristic threats” for joking about shooting her friends with a pink Hello KItty bubble gun.
Earlier this month a 6-year-old boy was suspended from his elementary school in Maryland for making a gun gesture with his hand and saying “pow”.
Days later another two 6-year-olds in Maryland were suspended for pointing their fingers into gun shapes while playing “cops and robbers” with each other.
In Oklahoma, a five-year-old boy was also recently suspended for making a gun gesture with his hand.
A 13-year-old Middle School seventh grade student in Pennsylvania was also suspended for the same hand gesture.
A Long Island high school was also placed on lock down for 6 hours in response to a student carrying a toy nerf gun.

Raymond owns an AR-15 which is a military style rifle.

Raymond estimated that just five seconds passed until the door started to open. It was one of the intruders.

"By the time I had it out and ready, one of the men came at my door, slowly opened it, saw that there was a barrel on the other side and from there backed out," Raymond said.

The two men fled the apartment.

Nothing was taken and no shots were fired.

The rifle was not loaded at the time of the home invasion, according to Raymond.

"They decided this place was a good place to rob, just a wrong decision on their part," Raymond said.

#THISisWhatMatters

The fact is, we have four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest, or was it because guys out for a walk one night decided to go kill some Americans. What difference, at this point, does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and to prevent it from ever happening again.

#THISisthe2ndAmendment

The notion that guns should form a part of education has a rich pedigree in our republic. In 1785, Thomas Jefferson wrote to his 15-year-old nephew Peter Carr with some scholarly advice. Having instructed him to read “antient history in detail” and expounded a little on which works of “Roman history” and “Greek and Latin poetry” were the most profitable, Jefferson counseled that:

"a strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks."
